Misfit Panda is a PETA-Approved Vegan footwear and accessories brand for women founded by Juveca Panda in January 2017.
Built around the brand’s mantra, “Be You. Be True. Be Misfit.”, Misfit Panda is inspired by bold and confident women who are breaking barriers every day. The brand began with a line of distinctive footwear that combined classic silhouettes with playful prints, colours, embroidery, and laser-cut motifs, all while maintaining a strong focus on comfort.
Inspired by her mother Anuradha’s love for footwear that was equal parts glamorous and comfortable, Juveca began the journey of building Misfit Panda alongside her. In the early days, the two would visit local markets together in search of materials and accessories, working closely on designs that balanced aesthetic expression with everyday wearability. Fit, comfort, and design have remained equally important to Misfit Panda since its inception.
As Juveca became increasingly committed to living more consciously by moving away from leather products and adopting a vegetarian lifestyle, it became important for the brand to reflect those values. Misfit Panda was envisioned as a way to make thoughtful choices more accessible through products that prioritise comfort, individuality, and cruelty-free materials.
At the heart of each collection is a story inspired by art, architecture, landscapes, and cultures encountered through travel across India and beyond. Every material is carefully handpicked by our team to reflect this inspiration, lending each product a sense of individuality while supporting the local businesses we work with.
What began with footwear has since evolved into a wider range of consciously designed bags, travel accessories, and home and office essentials, all handmade in India. Over time, it became clear that simply being a vegan brand was not enough. Creating products that aligned with both our values and environmental responsibility meant rethinking not just what we avoided, but what we chose to use.
At its core, Misfit Panda exists to make everyday products a little more exciting for those who value thoughtful design.
